Luna Lovegood Doll

I got way into American Girl dolls again last summer, and right around Christmas I decided I wanted to make a custom character of someone from Harry Potter. My favorite female in that series is Tonks, but I didn't really want to do a doll of her, so I chose Luna instead. I finally finished her in March.

Luna was originally AG's historical doll Elizabeth. I cut off her pincurls, painted her fingernails and toenails pearly white, made the radish (dirigible plum) earrings and butterbeer cork necklace, and collected a really kooky wardrobe for her. In this picture, the only official AG clothes she's wearing are the tie dye shirt (from the Earth Day outfit), the white undershirt (from the Ready for Fun outfit) and the Wellingtons (which are the AG Beach Boots).
